The Makita GA9040S is a powerful corded 9‑inch (230 mm) angle grinder built for heavy‑duty industrial cutting, grinding and finishing work. It features a 2,600 W motor running at around 6,600 RPM (no‑load), and supports 230 mm discs with a 22.23 mm arbor.
Its design includes soft start to reduce kickback at startup, a rotatable rear handle and three‑position anti‑vibration side handle for better control and comfort, plus a tool‑less wheel guard and an AVT (anti‑vibration) grip.
The grinder is relatively large and heavy (≈ 503×250×140 mm dimensions, net weight about 6.4‑8.9 kg depending on model/version) which reflects its capacity to tackle tough jobs.
