Here in the 21st century, we love – nay, need – our celebrities. We like to see them getting married, we like to see them on the beach, we like to see them getting fat – heck, we even like to see them walking down the street with a coffee in their hand. And, of course, we like to see them careening around in giant inner tubes. Unfortunately, that last one isn’t so easy to come across in Heat magazine. Luckily, EA has your back.

From the makers of EA Playground comes Celebrity Sports Showdown, embracing the lighter side of sports. As the name suggests, the game takes a bunch of celebrities and pits them against each other in a battle to the… most points in a fun but random selection of sports. This is, in a nutshell, the EA SPORTS Freestyle’s brand’s pop at a party game. Expect plenty of variation in the Wii-remote swinging and be careful to use that wrist strap!

Celebrities on offer include the likes of Fergie, Avril Lavigne, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban, Nelly Furtado, Paul Pierce, Mia Hamm, Kristi Yamaguchi, Reggie Bush and Sugar Ray Leonard. It’s a pretty random assortment of musicians and athletes – one the developers refer to as ‘rock and jock’.

As for sports on offer – expect Beach Volleyball, Inner-Tubing, Wild Water Canoeing, Hurdle Derby, Slalom Showdown, Cliff Hangers, Smash Badminton, Rapid Fire Archery, Joust Duel, Curling, Arena Dodgeball and Air Racers.
